Creative Minds Conference steering group by Katie, trainee information officer
On Saturday 8th May I went to Bristol to the steering group for the Creative Minds Learning Disability Conference South west. At the Arnolifini's light studio I met Kamina, who is organising the event, and other people from other arts organization groups. We talked about how we can run our South west Conference in Bristol in October. I told them all about the trip to the Brighton conference in March and we watched a short film about my trip to Brighton. Kamina asked us to come up with any suggestions of who we should invite to our Creative Minds Conference.

Frome's Mayor's Garden Party by Robin
On Saturday May 3rd 2014, Robin and Brian took part in the Mayor's Garden Party. We set up a stall to let people know about Openstorytellers and what we get up to in the local area. It was a very nice, loads of people came to see us and we spoke to a lot of people interested in Openstorytellers. We are one of the local charities that the Mayor has decided to support as part of his charitable work in Frome. We chatted with some of the other charities - including FROGS. We will be performing as part of their event for the Frome Children's Festival on July 27th.

Visit from Parliamentary candidates by Tim
On April the 10th the Parliamentary candidates for the Conservatives David Warburton and Liberal Democrats Sarah Yong were invited to come to the Openstorytellers office.
We asked them some questions about how they will support people with learning disabilities and what they can do for Frome and Somerton.
I thought it was very interesting and they both gave honest answers.
We felt that they listened to us.

MY VISIT TO @ BRISTOL BY CLEMMA
On Tuesday I met up with Cindy in Bristol to see a room where we can hold the Creative Minds Conference. The room is a great size to work in there is a lot of outside space and also comfortable seating inside. There are plenty of tables and chairs, 2 Disabled Toilets for people that are in wheel chairs, or in Mobility scooters, and a big kitchen for catering on the day or packed lunches. Down-stairs has a café as well there are lifts available if people don't like the stairs, it's a great space for the conference which takes place in October.
